About Me

I earned my Masters Degree in music from the Manhattan School of Music, having studied, performed, and written musical works that range from contemporary classical to jazz.

My arrangements and transcription works have been performed by the likes of Don Byron at an October 2004 performance at Symphony Space as well as by tap genius Savion Glover.

A recent transcription of Norris Turney’s “Checkered Hat”, once lost to the world because of missing parts and music score, was recently transcribed by Les and is now part of the Ellington Band’s (Birdland) regular performing repertoire.

A recent project with New York Trumpeter James Zollar involved Les in arranging music for his most recent release “It’s All Good People”.

As a composer and arranger I was asked by June Cross, Series Executive Producer for The Faith Project to create music for  the PBS documentary “This Far By Faith” in 2003.

Major network television broadcasts include working with Emmy-Award winning actor Danny Aeillo on the 2008 morning show (WPIX), 2009 Mike Huckabee Show (Fox Network), and 2010 on the “Good Morning New York” Show (Fox). Les also performs regularly with Mr. Aeillo at the world famous Iridium Jazz Club in New York City.

Les can also be heard playing with funk band, “Atomic Funk Project” and with jazz group “Three Play”.
